8 of my Favorite Chocolates in Dallas (EXPLORED)

Posted on by No comments

I did a tour of Dallas’ Best Chocolate spots this past weekend to see how Christmas is shaping up. Tomorrow on The Broadcast, you will find out my top 8 results of the best chocolates in Dallas! Here is my review:

Kate Weiser – Kate is doing pop up shops this Holiday Season, including the Anatole Hotel, this past Saturday where we had a chance to catch up. The former Chocolatier of Chocolate Secrets, Kate has a whole new line of chocolates, including bars. With her store under construction at Trinity Grove and is scheduled to open in early 2014, Kate’s amazing confections and bars are available at all Eatzi’s right now. Kate is a true Dallas treasure. Her bon-bons are visually stunning and equally tasty. She will be very big one day- hopefully she stays in Dallas and doesn’t take her talents to New York or Paris. bit.ly/1f1YHXw

Elegantly Chocolate – I love Stacy Johnson and what she does at Elegantly Chocolate in Carrollton. Stacy does the most creative holiday gift boxes around and her chocolates are fantastic. You all know I think her chocolate covered marshmallows – all home made- are second to none anywhere. Her white chocolate peppermint bark is especially “cool” this season. http://bit.ly/1aOGZm7

Emporium Pie – when entertaining this season, don’t leave out chocolate pie. The “Smooth Operator” is the best chocolate pie going in the Metroplex right now. I often take excursions to Bishop Arts in the middle of the day just to grab a piece of Megan Wilkes and crew’s amazing success. The rich silky chocolate pie filling that sitting on salty pretzel crumb crust is absolutely amazing. Check out their newest location in McKinney. http://bit.ly/1fdtD80

Sees- Warren Buffet says this is his best investment of all time. They have been around for decades and have made a comeback the past year to the DFW market. Frisco and now at Northpark (since black Friday), they have delicious chocolates in affordable gift boxes – their sampler boxes have all types of chocolates configurations choices inside and cute holiday decorations on the outside. http://bit.ly/1e1aj0B

Godiva- Godiva has been a real happy surprise the past few years, allowing their in store crew to do more than just sell packaged goods flown in from the plant many states away. I was particularly excited to see various peppermint items for the holidays- including a peppermint covered chocolate dipped double stuff oreo and a peppermint Truffle Crunch bar, which is a smooth dark chocolate truffle center dipped in Godiva’s rich chocolate and rolled in peppermint pieces. Delicious! http://bit.ly/18iAUnl

Dude, Sweet (Bishop Arts, Lower Greenville and Ft Worth). Katherine Clapner doesn’t do a big Christmas gifting program but she does to excellent hot drinking chocolate and homemade marshmallows in a gift set. A great gift when visiting friends at the annual holiday party. http://bit.ly/1e1b1e5

Central Market (multiple Metroplex and Texas locations)– An idea for easy Do-It-Yourself presents for the friend with everything or great stocking stuffers is to go to Central Market, which has the best selection of chocolate Bars in the country, and put together your own gift stash. They carry Pacari, the International Chocolate Awards winner for the best dark chocolate bar (70% raw) and the best flavored bar (Lemongrass). I also picked up bars by Patric Chocolate (another Int’l award winner), Willie’s Cacao (a legendary English chocolate maker) and JCO, from Seattle Chocolate Company- an edamame sea salt. All VERY special. http://bit.ly/1e1TtP9

Uptown Popcorn (Northpark, Cedar Hill and Fairview)- Cute Cute holiday packaging- I got a Santa, a Reindeer and a Snowman. These minis are great table decorations and/or give aways with a top notch taste. bit.ly/IMc82F

Costco (multiple locations): If you are into hot chocolate and grew up on Swiss Miss, you’ll love this sampler pack with 4 flavors. Of course, being Costco, this is not your small sampler, so enjoy for the entire season or with the whole family over the break. http://bit.ly/1aOJXXV

Starbucks (multiple locations). In keeping with the holiday and pepopermint theme, if you need a last minute gift, stop by your local coffee house and pick up the peppermint chocolate covered grahams. They are suprisingly good. http://bit.ly/1fdxDFt

Sublime Chocolate (Allen): Troy is another Metroplex treasure that we are lucky to have in our community. http://bit.ly/1fextO9
